Like many people I adore travelling. Meeting new people, new cultures and new experiences makes life worth living. I have been fortunate to have visited 24 countries in 5 continents over my travelling life but Asia will always have a special place in my heart.
However, travelling can be problematic for some. I have Friedreich's Ataxia, a medical condition which means I have been using a wheelchair since 1998. Consequently a lot of planning is involved before I travel. Is the hotel wheelchair friendly? Is public transport accessible? Are tourist sites accessible? Unfortunately many people with disabilities find the whole idea of travel too daunting- they either go somewhere they know has good access (like USA, Europe etc) or they just give up on the idea of travel entirely.
Over the past 15 years I have carried out access audits on retail outlets, restaurants and airports in the UK and giving them advice on how to improve their services. I now want to use my knowledge and broad experience to help tourism stakeholders improve access and help them promote their business to the one of the fastest growing segments of global tourism.

I have worked in a variety of organisations, including International University, Multinational Banks, Media, IT and Recruitment companies.
